Darunavir tablet is used in the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection in adults and children 3 years of age and older with a pharmacokinetic booster (a medicine that raises the amount of other medications in the body) such as ritonavir or cobicistat, as well as other medications. Darunavir belongs to a class of drugs known as protease inhibitors. It works by lowering HIV levels in the bloodstream. It can reduce your risk of acquiring AIDS and HIV-related illnesses, serious infections or cancer. Taking these medications, as well as practicing safer sex and adopting other lifestyle changes, may reduce the risk of spreading HIV to others.
