Trastuzumab injection is a type of anticancer medicine that is used to treat some types of breast, stomach, and esophageal cancers. It is sometimes used in conjunction with other cancer drugs. This medicine is used to treat cancers that produce an excessive amount of a chemical known as HER2 protein. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody, which means it belongs to a class of drugs called monoclonal antibodies. It is a drug that works by slowing or preventing the growth of cancer cells. It is occasionally used when cancer has spread to other places of the body (metastatic).
