Etravirine Tablet is a medicine that is used in combination with other drugs in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in adults and children aged 2 and up who are no longer responding to existing HIV treatments. Etravirine belongs to a group of drugs known as non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs). It works by lowering HIV levels in the bloodstream. Although etravirine does not eliminate HIV, it can reduce your risk of acquiring AIDS and HIV-related disorders such serious diseases or cancer. These drugs, together with safer sex practices and other lifestyle modifications, may reduce the risk of transferring (spreading) the HIV virus to others.
